It was my great pleasure to recently visit Warrenmang Estate in Victoria’s Pyrenees. Having been seriously impressed by their wines for years, particularly the Black Puma, visiting the winery has now finally been ticked off my ‘must do’ list.
About to celebrate his 40th winery anniversary, the truly delightful Luigi Bezzani started the winery with his wife Athalie. I felt honored being shown through his rustic and homey feeling winery complete with gorgeous underground cellar, including a hand dug tunnel leading from the cellar door.
Sampling a few stunning barrel samples, I was privileged to taste a yet to be released flagship wine that we agreed should be labeled as ‘The Legacy’, given he felt it encapsulated his contribution to the region and wine lovers alike.
